The company GLOBIT GmbH

GLOBIT - Global Information Technology GmbH develops and markets software for the planning, organisation and execution of national and international conferences and congresses.

This includes the extensive web-based congress information system CO CONGRESS ONLINE^®, which has been employed for congresses for ten years and is constantly adapted to upcoming requirements by GLOBIT GmbH.
CO CONGRESS ONLINE^® can be used by Scientific Associations and Professional Congress Organizers (PCO).

GLOBIT GmbH develops and builds web presences and provides website hosting. In collaboration with Scientific Associations and Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs), GLOBIT offers individual consulting and requirements analysis up to the development of tailor-made applications.

Further, GLOBIT closely cooperates with national and international research groups as well as industrial  application and development partners. Currently, GLOBIT is engaged in several EU- and BMFE research projects in the areas of congress information systems, digital libraries and apllication solutions of the semantic web.

GLOBIT's development

GLOBIT - Global Information Technology was founded in January 1997 as a spin-off enterprise of the Institute for Integrated Publication- and Information Systems (IPSI) of the GMD - Research Center Information Technology GmbH, today Fraunhofer Institute,  in Darmstadt.

In 2002, GLOBIT became a subsidiary company of the conference and congress organiser CPO Hanser Service.
